Crawford County Council on Aging

TRANSPORTATION

Crawford County Council on Aging provides Specialized Transportation to seniors (60 years & older) and individuals with disabilities.  Rides for the general public can be provided if seating is available. 

Transportation services operate Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 5:00pm. Door to door services are provided to various medical appointments, grocery stores, beauty shops, etc. Vans are equipped with wheelchair lifts and the drivers are trained in all areas of transportation.

Transportation to medical appointments in Marion, Mansfield, and Columbus is available for passengers 60 years and older. Transportation to out-of-county medical appointments are dependent on availability of vehicles and drivers. Out-of-county requests require at least one- week advance notice. 

Donation request for out-of-county trips for seniors 60 and older:

Marion (round trip) $25.00–Tuesdays

Mansfield (round trip) $25.00–Wednesdays

Columbus (round trip) $40.00–Thursdays 

{When requesting a trip you will be asked to give required personal information, along with trip information including the exact address of your destination.

A fare is collected each time a passenger boards the van. Passengers must have the exact fare. Drivers cannot make change.

  • Donation request for seniors 60 and older:

  • $4.00 (one-way) to travel from city to city, within the county

  • $3.00 (one-way) within the same city

  • $2.00 (one-way) for disabled passengers within the county- proof of disability required.

  • Passengers 60 years and older will not be refused transportation services due to the inability to  donate. All donations are voluntary and confidential. All donations are used to expand good and services for seniors residing in Crawford county.

Reasonable Accommodation

Requests for accommodation may be made either orally or in writing. The reasonable accommodation process begins as soon as the request for accommodation is made. The request can be submitted in any written format. Alternative means of filing a request, such as personal interviews, phone calls, or taped requests, will be made available for persons with disabilities if unable to communicate their request in writing or upon request.
