Don’t forget to sign up for our monthly, Senior Tidings, newsletter! Call 419-562-3050 or email to [email protected] to be put on our mailing list.
We offer an optional, paid Activities Membership. Members receive discounts on most class/activity fees, may attend members-only activities and may sign up for activities early by using their Senior Space profiles online. Memberships are $30 for an individual or $55 for a married couple. Membership term is 1 year and must be renewed annually to continue receiving member benefits.
For questions about memberships, call 419-562-3050 ext. 235 to speak with our Activities Coordinator or stop in our Senior Center at 200 S. Spring St., Bucyrus, for a membership packet.
Senior activities are also offered outside of our Senior Center in Bucyrus to make the program more accessible throughout the county. We offer activities in Crestline at the Crestline VFW Post 2920 and in Galion at the Galion Golden Age Center. Offsite activities are dependent upon funds (example: having a sponsor for bingo) and participation. If an offsite activity is offered in a given month, this will be noted in our newsletter.
The Senior Activities Program relies on community support. There are many ways you can help this program to continue to grow by helping the seniors in our community.
Volunteer: You can help with bingo, painting class (no painting experience needed to assist!), parties and other larger crafts and events. Volunteer form required.
Sponsorship: You don’t need to own a business to sponsor a bingo event. Private individuals can be a sponsor by giving a donation for the prizes and helping at the game. Another option is to make a donation that will cover the cost of a senior’s membership. Other events throughout the year that require community support include Secret Santa Tree, Older Americans Month, prize donations, etc. Please speak with our Activities Coordinator to learn more about sponsorship opportunities.
Support Our Fundraisers: Various fundraisers are held throughout the year. Check the website “News and Events” tab and our online newsletter for more information each month.
