Senior Citizens Day at the Crawford County Fair

Crawford County Council on Aging, Heartland of Bucyrus, and Crawford County Fair Board sponsored the 33rd Annual Senior Citizens Day at the Crawford County Fair on Thursday, July 21st.

The event took place on Thursday, July 21st in the Youth Building.  The program began with a welcome presented by Cassie Herschler, Executive Director of the Council on Aging.  The Council on Aging's good pal Brady Hogg was the events MC.  The staff of the COA presented a "Fame Game" and gave out prized to those who were winners.  Local vendors provided exhibits for those to visit and gain information.  Entertainment was a huge success with performances by United In Harmony, Lesley Tuscan-McCray and the surprise entertainer Elvis. Lunch was provided by Heartland of Bucyrus to all participants.  The closing of the event consisted of giving out door prizes that were provided by local vendors.

We would like to say a special thank you to all that made Senior Day at the Fair a Success !
Ron Higbie, for his Emcee entertainment along with his many costume changes-he’s the best!!!
Dave Hamlin, for his karaoke equipment and his singing, which we all love to see the smile on his face as he’s performing.
And to Carlisle Place, Altercare of Bucyrus, Harbor Light Hospice, Orchard Park Assisted Living, Hord Livestock Company, and Galion Elks Lodge #1191  for their generous donations in helping to provide entertainment and donating door prizes.
